Notes from Florence on summer tailoring, personal style, and the future of menswear.

Florence has always had a way of slowing things down.

Twice a year, the world’s most passionate menswear enthusiasts gather at Pitti Uomo—not simply to see clothing, but to celebrate the art of dressing. For its 110th edition, the streets surrounding the Fortezza da Basso once again became a living archive of tailoring, craftsmanship, and individual expression.

But this season felt different.

The message from Florence was clear: menswear is becoming softer, more personal, and more effortless.

The days of rigid tailoring and overly structured silhouettes continue to give way to something more relaxed. Clothing designed not only to impress—but to be lived in.

And perhaps that is where modern elegance truly exists.

The New Language of Tailoring

For decades, Pitti Uomo was associated with sharp suits, bold patterns, and a certain theatrical approach to dressing.

Today, refinement is quieter.

This season, we saw a continued movement toward relaxed tailoring:

  • softer shoulders
  • wider trousers
  • breathable natural fabrics
  • casual layering
  • tonal dressing

The suit is no longer reserved for a boardroom or special occasion. Instead, it has become a personal uniform—adaptable, comfortable, and expressive.

Linen suits appeared washed, lived-in, and full of character. Jackets were worn open. Shirts replaced ties. Traditional rules became suggestions rather than requirements.

At League of Rebels, this evolution has always been part of our philosophy: tailoring should complement the person wearing it—not overpower them.

The Rise of the Relaxed Trouser

If there was one defining piece at Pitti Uomo 110, it was the trouser.

Higher rises. Generous pleats. Wider legs.

After years dominated by slimmer silhouettes, menswear has returned to proportion and movement. The trouser has become the foundation of the outfit again.

A beautifully cut trouser brings balance:

  • the waist sits naturally higher
  • the leg falls cleaner
  • the fabric moves with ease

It is a reminder that true tailoring is not about restriction—it is about comfort perfected.

Summer Fabrics Took Center Stage

Florence in June is the ultimate test for clothing.

When temperatures rise, fabric matters.

This season celebrated materials designed for warm weather:

Linen
For its texture, breathability, and effortless imperfection.

Cotton & Lightweight Twills
For relaxed separates and casual tailoring.

Open-Weave Wool
For those who appreciate structure without weight.

The most successful looks were not the loudest—they were the ones that looked natural.

Sun-faded neutrals, cream tones, tobacco shades, soft blues, and washed blacks dominated the streets.

The Return of the Statement Shirt

Tailoring was not the only conversation.

The shirt had a moment.

Open collars, oversized pockets, textured fabrics, and relaxed silhouettes created a bridge between traditional tailoring and resort dressing.

The best examples carried a sense of nostalgia—Mediterranean summers, old Hollywood, travel wardrobes—while still feeling modern.

A reminder that sometimes the simplest pieces become the most memorable.

Personal Style Over Trends

Perhaps the most inspiring part of Pitti Uomo is not the clothing itself.

It is the confidence.

The best-dressed attendees were not following trends. They understood themselves.

A cream linen suit.
A perfectly worn denim.
A relaxed shirt.
A favorite pair of loafers.

Individuality was the luxury.

As menswear continues to evolve, the focus has shifted away from owning more—and toward owning better.

What We Take Away From Florence

Every edition of Pitti Uomo is an opportunity to watch/listen.

To makers.
To fabric houses.
To craftsmen.
To the people shaping what comes next.

And after the 110th edition, one thing feels certain:

The future of menswear belongs to clothing with character.

Pieces that travel.
Pieces that age.
Pieces that tell a story.

Because true style has never been about perfection.

It has always been about presence.
